Andy Ayotte joined the firm as counsel in 2006. Andy has been a partner at the firm since 2007 and is currently the managing partner at Wilson Vukelich LLP. Andy's practice involves the structuring, documentation and negotiation of lending transactions, transactions involving the purchase and sale of receivables, project financings and other specialized financing transactions. He has developed a particular expertise in the field of asset/equipment finance and leasing. He also regularly drafts and negotiates commercial service and supply contracts for clients in a variety of industries with an eye to ensuring that the language in such contracts permits them to be financed by third party lenders.
Andy has practised in the financial services industry for more than 20 years. He began his career in this industry by working with a major Canadian chartered bank as a relationship manager for several years. He then joined a Bay Street firm in 1989 where he capitalized on his banking experience and established a practice in the financial services field.
Andy is a member of the legal committee of the Canadian Finance & Leasing Association. He is currently counsel (and a frequent volunteer) for the Abilities Centre, counsel for Epilepsy Toronto (an organization with which he has been involved for 18 years), and counsel for the Canadian Epilepsy Alliance, an organization for which he was the founding President.
Andy is an avid runner who runs a half-marathon every year to raise money for one of his favourite charities.
