ONTARIO’S NEW OHSA TRAINING OBLIGATIONS AND OUR TRAINING SESSIONS
Commencing July 1, 2014, employers in Ontario must ensure that all their workers and supervisors have completed the new Occupational Health and Safety Act (“OHSA”) training program. The content of the training must meet the regulatory requirements set out in the Occupational Health and Safety Awareness and Training Regulation (O. Reg. 297/13).
In order to help ensure you are in compliance with these new workplace obligations, Wilson Vukelich is providing a supervisor training session. We will cover the areas which supervisors are required to be trained in order to ensure compliance with the Regulation. In addition, we will provide worker training booklets, which your supervisors can then utilize to train your workers.
At this seminar you will learn about:
- the duties and rights of workers, employers, and supervisors under OHSA;
- information and instruction pursuant to the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS);
- common workplace hazards and occupational illnesses; and
- the role of health and safety representatives, joint health and safety committees, the Ministry of Labour, and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB).
