Doug’s practice includes advising clients on employment matters and handling employment law litigation. He is the firm’s senior counsel for tax litigation in the Tax Court of Canada, the Federal Court, and the Federal Court of Appeal. He is also the firm’s senior counsel in regard to bankruptcy and insolvency matters, and represents the firm’s corporate and financial institution clients before the courts in receiverships, bankruptcies, and in restructuring under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act. He also has substantial experience involving actions against insurance companies, in shareholders disputes, and breach of contract cases.

A history undergraduate and law graduate of the University of Toronto, Doug helped found Wilson Vukelich in 1990 after practising with two major Toronto law firms.

Doug brings over 30 years of banking, insolvency, commercial, employment law, and tax law experience to the firm, and specializes in civil litigation. He has conducted trials and appeals at all levels of court in Ontario and has been involved in many mediations and arbitrations.

Involvement & Recognition

Doug is a member of the York Region Law Association. He is an avid runner, loves to travel, and spends his quiet time at his cottage in the Muskokas.
